All announcements, articles and information for the weekly parish bulletin must be received by Monday, end-of-day, so that it may be considered for publication in the bulletin to be printed. Any early publication deadlines will be communicated by the Bulletin Editor, Rachael Palmer.Submission Requirements: Essential Information
An item submitted for publication in our weekly bulletin and/or parish website must provide all essential information. The submission must contain:
- A brief explanation of the event/project written in full, clear sentences.
- The event’s date, time and location (including address); the project's start/end date.
- The name of the group/person hosting/heading the event/project.
- The name and contact information of at least one person (to be included in the published announcement) who can answer questions regarding the event/project.
Submitting Poster/Graphic Advertisements:
- When submitting a poster or graphic advertisement (created using Canva), a detailed, fully-written announcement on the subject must accompany it.
- The Bulletin Editor must have “editing” access to the project. Please only use Canva when creating an advertisement and share access with the Bulletin Editor with the email: [email protected]. The Bulletin Editor has the right to re-work or re-create a new advertisement with the information due to space limitations.
- No poster ads will be accepted by the Bulletin Editor without the required written, detailed announcement text.
Rules about using Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Pope Leo XIV stated in March 2026 that human beings should avoid "naïve and unquestioning reliance" on artificial intelligence (AI). Creativity is something that should be encouraged. If you need help making an advertisement, our Bulletin Editor will help with assistance.
- Pope Leo XIV went on to write, in his first papal encyclical Magnifica Humanitas, that AI “can paradoxically de-skill workers, subject them to automated surveillance and relegate them to rigid and repetitive tasks” (150). AI should not stifle creativity.
- Therefore, absolutely NO advertisements made with the use of AI will be permitted in the Mary, Queen of Saints Parish bulletin.
In Conclusion
Upon submission, the announcement will be reviewed. If it is lacking in any of the above stated points, it will not be published. The cut-off for submissions is Monday, end-of-day, the week of the bulletin's due date. Submissions may be emailed to [email protected] for consideration.
