Welcome to EDGE Middle School Youth Group! Our youth group is open for grades 6, 7 and 8 — whether you're in Catholic school, public school or home schooled! You don't have to be part of our parish; this is a welcome place for any and all youth!
We have a mixture of social and discussion nights, but don't fret: this isn't another religion class. Our discussions are about everyday issues our students face in the world, with a faith-filled interpretation.
We always appreciate and welcome donations of pop, water, juice and boxes of individually boxed chips/snacks.

EDGE Model
We use the EDGE Model, a product of LifeTeen (TM). EDGE is a middle school-based guide to help our students apply Scripture and lessons from Jesus Christ in our everyday situations — whether it's stress, handling bullying and more.
Topics include: Body Image, Bullying, Death, Eucharistic Importance, Gossip, Confession, Holy Humor, Intercessory Prayer, Social Media, St. Joseph, Stress, Confirmation, What is a Sacrament, What is the Bible and What is Virtue.

Meeting Location: SFC Youth Center
The MQSP Youth Center is a vital and uniting space for our parish community. The building is located on the grounds of St. Frances Cabrini Church, in what was a convent for the School Sisters of St. Francis who, in years past, served the former Parish of St. Frances Cabrini. After the completion of some repair and renovation work, the building was been assigned a new purpose.

The Youth Center of Mary, Queen of Saints Parish was opened on June 13, 2021. This space is not only used by our parish Youth Group; it is also where smaller meetings and events are held by various parish planners and organizations.
Our MQSP Youth Center is a truly welcoming place; it is not only one in which the opportunity to grow in knowledge, faith and grace is extended to all, it is one of the spaces of our parish where the future is envisioned and fostered. Welcome and God be with you.

ABOUT MQS YOUTH GROUP DIRECTOR, Rachael Palmer
On Feb. 27, 2023, Rachael Palmer (Kriger) joined Mary, Queen of Saints Parish after serving as a youth minister at Blessed Trinity Parish in Ocala, Fla., and St. Oscar Romero Parish in Canonsburg, Pa. She is a graduate of our parish’s Our Lady of Fatima School (Class of 2011) and served as the OLOF Varsity Girls Basketball coach for 10 years. She also served for four years as the school's Varsity Soccer co-head coach.
After graduating from Hopewell High School in 2015, Rachael earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English, in the area of Journalism, from California University of Pennsylvania; and a Master of Arts in Media Communication from Point Park University. In March 2023, she graduated with an Master of Arts in Pastoral Theology from St. Joseph's College of Maine. Rachael's media experience includes both newspaper and online publications. She also contributes regularly as a sports writer for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Beaver County Times and Pittsburgh Soccer Now. She is in her sixth season on the University of Pittsburgh women's soccer team broadcasts for home games, where she regularly serves as a color commentator.
Rachael is looking forward to serving our parish and our mission to evangelize by using all her background skills and gifts as she jumps into both roles, the Youth Ministry Director and Communications Director.
Rachael lives in Hopewell, Beaver County, with her husband, Luke. He is her ready 'assistant' in all things youth ministry. They are members of Mary, Queen of Saints Parish.
