Father Jack Demnyan was ordained a deacon in 2014 and to the priesthood in 2016 by Bishop David Zubik. His first assignment after priestly ordination was parochial vicar at St. Bernard Parish (Mt. Lebanon) and part-time chaplain to Seton-LaSalle High School. Afterward, he became the temporary administrator of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish (Burgettstown).
When On Mission! started in October 2018, he became parochial vicar of Grouping 212 which later became Mary, Mother of God Parish in the McKeesport/White Oak/East McKeesport area. In 2021, Bishop Zubik asked him to be the parochial vicar at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish in the North Hills while studying Canon Law part-time. He transitioned to full time studies in Canon Law in 2023. In November 2024, he requested a leave of absence for personal reasons. And now, he is happy to return and now serve the good people here at Mary, Queen of Saints Parish.
Born and raised in Washington County, his home parish was Holy Rosary in Muse, now part of St. Oscar Romero Parish. His parents are Natalie Harvison and the late Sean Demnyan and is the eldest of three sons, Jake & George Demnyan. He’s blessed to have his stepfather, Jack, and is the proud uncle of two nieces (one more on the way) and one nephew. He obtained a B.S. in Business Administration from California University of Pennsylvania and have the M.Div. and STB from St. Mary Seminary & University, Baltimore, MD. He also studied at St. Paul Seminary, Duquesne University and University of St. Paul, Ottawa, CA, and spent a summer at Creighton University in 2012.
Outside of ministry, I’ve been employed by the NCO Group (collections rep), CSX Transportation (freight conductor) and Pittsburgh Regional Transit (operator & customer service rep). I love history, especially transportation history and am active with the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum in Washington, Pa.
