Bishop Eckman Installation MassOn Monday, July 14, 2025, your parish clergy had the pleasure of attending the official
Installation of Mark A. Eckman, as the thirteenth diocesan Bishop of Pittsburgh. 2,500 people attended the Solemn Mass at Saint Paul Cathedral in Oakland, along with Apostolic Nuncio Cardinal Christophe Pierre, Cardinal Donald Wuerl, bishops from surrounding dioceses, and local faith leaders and dignitaries from the City of Pittsburgh. Please see the pictures from this historic Mass in today’s Sunday’s bulletin.
Annual Mission AppealThis weekend, we are happy to welcome Fr. Leon Hont, O.S.B. and Brother Bosco Hough, O.S.B. from Saint Vincent Archabbey for the annual Mission Co-Op Appeal. Every parish in the diocese is asked to host a missionary appeal during the summer months in order to help promote the works of various Catholic religious communities around the world. Fr. Hont and Brother Hough will be speaking at each of the Masses this weekend at MQSP.
MQSP Faith Formation 2025-26This is the time when preparations are taking place for the upcoming school year of Parish Faith Formation and once again, we are seeking enthusiastic, faith-filled volunteers to consider becoming
catechists,
substitutes,
classroom aides, and
office assistants. If you feel God calling you to serve in any of these important roles, please contact Deanna Stacho in our Faith Formation Office at
724.774.4888 or at
[email protected]. We need help at both St. John the Baptist and St. Frances Cabrini locations for our Sunday and Monday sessions.
Daily Mass LectorsWe are blessed as a parish to have daily Mass celebrated Monday through Saturday at our four churches. However, we are in great need of lectors for these liturgies. Each Holy Mass, whether it is celebrated on a weekday or a Sunday, should have a properly trained lector to proclaim the
First Reading, the
Psalm and the
Prayers of the Faithful. Therefore, If you regularly attend one of the daily Masses and feel called to participate in this very important liturgical ministry, please contact me at your convenience:
[email protected] or
[email protected]. I look forward to hearing from interested parishioners and know that we will provide the necessary training if you’ve never participated in this ministry before. Thank you in advance to your attention to this matter.
Tuesday Afternoon ConfessionsA reminder that effective August 1, 2025, Tuesday afternoon confessions (currently 4PM @ SFC) will end and will be returning in Advent and Lent at a new time.
Blessings on your week!
