A Note from Fr. Canice
6/29/25
My Beloved Parishioners,
I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible support and affection you offered me at my farewell gathering. Your unwavering kindness truly humbles me, and I am deeply touched by your thoughtful letters and generous gifts. You have been better to me than I could ever deserve, and I am profoundly grateful for your love and encouragement.
Though leaving our beloved parish fills me with sadness, I find comfort in the words our Lord shared with St. Catherine of Siena, of which I will do my best to paraphrase: In Heaven, we will know every person who has lived, died, and entered eternal life. Though this is remarkable to fathom. He then revealed to her something even more magnificent. He told her that the most special relationships in Heaven will be with the people who helped us to grow in virtue and love on earth. This is exactly what you have done for me, and it fills my heart with joy knowing that I will have a beautiful and special relationship with each of you in the Kingdom of God. I love you all deeply and will keep you in my prayers.
In the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Queen of Saints,
Father Canice McMullen, OSB Pastor of Mary, Queen of Saints Parish
