Holy Orders is a Sacrament by which bishops, priests and deacons of the Catholic Church are ordained and receive the power and grace to perform their sacred duties.
Christians should look upon the priests of the Catholic Church as the messengers of God and the dispensers of His mysteries. Only bishops can confer the Sacrament of Holy Orders.

Receiving the Sacrament of Holy Orders
The sacrament through which the mission entrusted by Christ to His apostles continues until the end of time. It is carried out in three degrees of service: episcopate (bishops), presbyterate (priests) and diaconate (deacons).
