A parish welcome to Dylan Balson who is the new Music Ministry Coordinator with responsibilities at both St. Frances Cabrini Church and Our Lady of Fatima Church locations.
Rooted in the Catholic faith from a young age, Dylan attended Catholic grade school in the parish where he grew up in Verona, PA. Around the time he began piano lessons in second grade, he became fascinated with the organ at church and would always have to sit in the pew closest to the organ and choir.
A few years after starting piano lessons, he began organ studies with an organist in his hometown. He fell in love with the immense sound capabilities the organ had in comparison to the piano, which has a singular distinctive sound. He continued to study piano privately through the years. His exposure to music from a very young age is what led him to major in music at college. He is very excited to join the Mary, Queen of Saints Parish community and looks forward to growing the music ministries in the parish.
Dylan recently graduated from Seton Hill University with a bachelor's degree in Music Education as a Piano and Organ Major and Secondary Vocal Training. He also completed courses in Sacred Music and Hymnody.
Welcome, Dylan!
